Arts Enrichment

Our Foundation funds a supplemental art teacher who works with all students throughout the year. Students do visual arts enrichment projects that are aligned with the California State Standards, including drawing, painting, and ceramics (using the kiln purchased by Foundation).

California Education Code requires 100 minutes per week of Visual and Performing Arts education at the elementary level.

Franklin's teachers regularly incorporate drawing, collage, and arts education within the core subjects of history, science, math, and language.

The Franklin PTA provides free arts-focused assemblies during the annual PTA Reflections Contest, such as artist and author Vanessa Brantley-Newton.

If you would like to volunteer to lead an art project after school (especially in one of our four target languages), or if you have connections to low-cost or donated art supplies, please contact bfefboard@gmail.com
