California State PTA Advocacy

California State PTA regularly posts advocacy positions, endorses ballot measures, and lobbies for state and national legislation that aligns with our mission. The PTA cannot endorse political candidates, but can and does host public candidate forums for local races and issues.

You can track legislative updates on the CAPTA Advocacy page.

Interested in Advocacy?

PTA believes all kids benefit when families get involved. Contact our PTA president if you are interested in chairing our PTA Advocacy Committee.

Previous advocacy includes:

  • CA Senate Bill 328: Healthy  School start times, now in effect!
  • Schools and Communities First Statewide Ballot Measure (2020)
  • Census 2020 awareness and participation
  • Voter Registration: Advocacy starts at the ballot box! Check your registration at vote.org, and encourage others to register and vote. Franklin served as a vote center in the June 2020 Primary Election.
